MY STORY
After a career of full-time mothering, I returned to graduate school and received my doctorate in clinical psychology. I trained at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston and stayed on an extra year to serve as clinical faculty.
Not long afterward, I moved to California, where I went into private practice. I also supervised psychology interns at a psychoanalytic training program and ultimately, became a clinical director there.
Seven years later, I returned to New England and opened a psychotherapy practice in Providence, RI, Again, I became a psychotherapy supervisor in the psychiatry residency at Brown University and later received an appointment to the clinical faculty. Family responsibilities brought me to Boston, where I see clients in Rhode Island via teletherapy.
In the past few years, the tides of psychotherapy have shifted toward forward-looking, goal-oriented approaches. Riding that wave, I sought training in coaching and now have certification as a professional life coach. I now offer in-person and remote life coaching in Massachusetts. As a coach, I help clients clarify their goals, identify the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that might be getting in the way, and determine the steps they’re willing to take to reach those goals.
